Personal finance, privately yours.
Finolio is an expense tracker built for one person — you. Every transaction, receipt, and budget lives in your private iCloud, not on our servers. No accounts to create. No analytics. No ads.
Taps, receipts, bank alerts, and Apple Card — captured for you, kept to yourself.
Built around your privacy
Finolio is designed so even we can’t see your data. Here’s how.
-
01
Your iCloud, not ours
All your data syncs through your private iCloud database — no logins, no profile of you, and no way for us to read it. The one optional feature that uses a Finolio relay, Email Forwarding, verifies your bank’s email authentication before logging anything and runs over hardened HTTPS — spelled out in our Privacy Policy.
-
02
No analytics, no tracking
No SDKs phoning home. No ad networks. No behavioral profiling. The app makes no outbound calls except syncing your own data and any optional connections — like cloud AI or bank-email import — that you switch on yourself.
-
03
On-device intelligence
Receipt scanning and the Finolio Coach run on your device using Apple Intelligence. Ask the Coach about your spending and it answers privately — optional cloud AI (Claude) is opt-in and uses your own API key, never ours.
-
04
You own your data
Export a full backup of every record in plain JSON whenever you want. Delete it all in one tap. It’s your money — it should be your data, too.
-
05
iPhone, iPad, and Mac
One purchase, every Apple device. Widgets, Live Activities, Siri Shortcuts, and Lock Screen access — all included.
-
06
Built for everyday use
Budgets, recurring expenses, savings goals, spending sprints, and receipt photos — designed to be glanced at, not labored over.
Auto-import — charges, logged for you
Several ways auto-import keeps the ledger up to date — most on-device, with one optional email relay you switch on yourself.
-
07
Apple Card syncs itself
Connect Apple Card once and every charge — taps, online orders, subscriptions — flows in automatically, straight from Wallet. No third-party services touch your data.
-
08
Tap to pay, logged instantly
A new Shortcuts automation logs any Apple Pay tap — on any card — before you’ve put your phone away. Set it up once in Settings → Auto-Import.
-
09
Bank alerts become expenses
Turn on your bank’s transaction emails and they import automatically. The easy way: forward them to your private Finolio address — works with any bank, no Google sign-in (this optional path routes alerts through Finolio’s relay, so it’s less private; see our Privacy Policy). Or connect Gmail read-only to parse them strictly on-device, where nothing leaves your phone.
-
10
Backfill months of history
Import any bank’s CSV statement and Finolio detects the columns automatically. Re-importing the same file never creates duplicates.
-
11
One charge, logged once
A smart dedupe engine recognizes the same purchase arriving from different sources — a tap, an email, a card sync — and keeps exactly one copy.
-
12
Per-card payment methods
Auto-imported charges are filed under the actual card — so spending breakdowns by card finally tell the whole story.
